Tiny Experiment
What happens when we try things?
My curiosity: I want to discover whether creative writing is a thing I enjoy or something I guilt myself into wanting to do but never quite getting around to doing. What if I discover that I don’t like it? I can stop feeling guilty about it. And if I discover that I enjoy it, I can stop feeling guilty about it and start doing it whenever I want to have fun.
“Lit” review: If I read myself, I can note that I tend to feel a sense of burden rather than relief if I impose rules for creativity. However, I also tend to become excited about being creative. I find that creative ideas pop up more often when I am actively creating. Those ideas have a tendency to resound in my head and have a way of raising my heart rate as I imagine myself sharing them. But I don’t share them because I feel like I will start strong and lose momentum soon into the process of fleshing them out.
“Research” question: Will I want to continue writing after this experiment if I show up to this website every workday for the next 10 workdays to write something creative?
Prediction: I will find myself enjoying the process and will want to continue writing.
